Simple, tasty pepperoni pizza rolls that make a perfect party snack or family treat.
Ingredients
  • Makes 14–15 pizza rolls
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon yeast
  • ½ tablespoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2–3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup pizza sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • 40–50 pepperoni slices
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let stand about 5 minutes until the yeast is foamy.
  2. Add olive oil, salt, and 2 cups of flour to the yeast mixture and stir to combine.
  3. Add additional flour as needed and knead until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel and let the dough rest in a warm place for about 20 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Lightly spray or flour the countertop and roll the dough into a large rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving one long edge free of toppings.
  8. Arrange pepperoni slices over the sauce and sprinkle shredded mozzarella evenly.
  9. Fold the dough over the toppings on the free edge and roll it up carefully into a tight log.
  10. Using a sharp knife, slice the log into pieces about 3/4 inch thick.
  11. Place each slice cut-side down on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes, until lightly golden and the cheese is melted.
