I recently had the pleasure of testing the Tribest Sousvant SV-101 Complete Sous Vide Circulator, the newest complete sous vide system on the market. I hadn’t heard of Tribest or this model before, so I didn’t come in with high expectations. To my surprise, the Sousvant exceeded them — it is an impressive, well-designed machine that performs reliably and easily.

Tribest Sousvant SV-101 Review
The Tribest Sousvant SV-101 arrived in professional, well-designed packaging that immediately set a positive tone. The outer box and internal protection were thoughtfully executed, so the unit arrived in perfect condition.
Setup was remarkably fast — about 20 seconds. Most of that time was spent finding an outlet behind the microwave. The unit is lightweight, listed at just over 10 pounds, but easy to lift and position. Handling it is simple for anyone.

The package includes four main components: the base circulator, the cooking container, a fitted lid for the container, and a protective storage bag for the base. The inclusion of a storage bag is a small but appreciated detail that speaks to Tribest’s attention to user experience.
After a quick rinse of the container I was ready to cook.
To benchmark the Sousvant’s performance, I run each new machine through a consistent test: I purchase good-quality ribeye steaks, season them with kosher salt and black pepper, place them in a sous vide bag or vacuum seal them, add a bit of olive oil and fresh herbs (rosemary for this test), and cook for one hour at 133ºF, plus the heating time. This method provides a fair comparison of each unit’s heating and temperature stability.
Here are some pictures during the preparation and the cooking:

Heating up! Room temperature was 72º. It took 22 minutes to heat up to 133º

End Result: We LOVE the Tribest Sousvant SV-101 Complete Sous Vide Circulator
I was genuinely impressed with the Tribest Sousvant. Here are the key reasons why it stood out:
- Fast and simple assembly — a quick container rinse was all that was needed to begin cooking.
- Capacity and circulation handled 3.5 pounds of ribeye without issue.
- The container lid locks securely to minimize heat and air loss during cooking.
- The unit is lightweight and easy to maneuver.
- Operation is very quiet; a low hum quickly fades into the background.
- Heating performance was solid. The bath went from room temperature (72ºF) to 133ºF in 22 minutes with steaks inside. Preheating would shorten that time further.
- The LED interface is intuitive and straightforward to use.
- Temperature control is precise to 0.1ºF, and the display shows minor fluctuations and quick corrections to maintain the set point.
- Tribest supports the product with a two-year warranty.
Most importantly, the food turned out delicious.
I cooked for an important guest that night — my girlfriend’s father — so the test felt real. The Sousvant SV-101 handled the job confidently and delivered excellent results. Based on this experience, I recommend the Sousvant whether you are an enthusiastic home cook or a professional chef looking for a dependable sous vide system.
